TEETH WHITENING
At Refine Specialist Dental Care

According to UK law, only registered Dental Professionals, specifically Dentists or Dental Hygienists who are officially registered with the General Dental Council (GDC), are legally permitted to perform tooth whitening procedures. This regulation ensures that tooth whitening treatments are carried out safely and effectively, maintaining the highest standards of care and compliance with professional guidelines.

At Refine Specialist Dental Care, we adhere strictly to these regulations. Our dental hygienist is fully compliant with all GDC rules governing tooth whitening procedures. Her extensive training and experience ensure that each treatment is conducted with the utmost precision and safety.

Before undergoing any tooth whitening treatment, patients are required to have a comprehensive examination with our Specialist. This initial assessment is crucial in determining whether tooth whitening is a suitable option based on individual dental health and specific needs. This thorough evaluation helps us tailor the treatment to achieve optimal results while ensuring that it is appropriate for each patient's unique dental condition.

FAQs

MORE ABOUT TEETH WHITENING

What is teeth whitening?

Teeth whitening is a cosmetic dental procedure aimed at lightening the colour of your teeth and removing stains and discolouration. It is achieved through the use of bleaching agents that break down stains and enhance the brightness of your smile.

Is teeth whitening safe?

Yes. When performed by a qualified dental professional, teeth whitening is safe. At Refine Specialist Dental Care, our treatments comply with strict safety regulations, ensuring that they are both effective and safe for your dental health.

How long does teeth whitening take?

The duration of teeth whitening treatments can vary depending on the method used. In-office treatments typically take about an hour, while at-home whitening kits may require several weeks of daily application.

How long do the results of teeth whitening last?

The longevity of teeth whitening results depends on your lifestyle and oral hygiene practices. With proper care, including regular brushing and avoiding staining foods and drinks, results can last anywhere from several months to a few years.

Can teeth whitening be done on sensitive teeth?

Yes, teeth whitening can be performed on sensitive teeth, but it is essential to discuss your sensitivity with our dental professionals. We can recommend products or treatments specifically designed to minimise sensitivity.

Will teeth whitening work on dental restorations like crowns or fillings?

Teeth whitening treatments do not affect dental restorations such as crowns, fillings, or veneers. The whitening process only works on natural tooth enamel. If you have restorations, we can discuss options to ensure a consistent appearance.
